Volunteer supporters

Reading IASS works with volunteers to boost its capacity to support parents. Volunteers undertake training and play a vital role in providing support.

Who are our volunteers?

Volunteers may have personal experience of a child or young person with special educational needs or may have experience of or an interest in education. Volunteers enjoy meeting and talking to all kinds of people.

How they help

A volunteer supporter can help by:

  • Helping parents to fill in forms
  • Helping parents to express their views
  • Supporting parents in school meetings
  • Offering a listening ear
